- Penn State Hires New Director of Certificate Program in Golf Course Turfgrass Management John E. Kaminski, Ph.D., has been hired as the newest member of the Pennsylvania State University’s turfgrass faculty. He will assume the role of Assistant Professor of Turfgrass Science and Director of the Penn State Certificate Program in Golf Course Turfgrass Management.
- Jing Dai Wins National Award at the Annual Conference of the North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture (NACTA) Jing Dai, Penn State, received the NACTA Graduate Student Teacher Award at the Annual Conference of the North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture held at Utah State University, June 2008. - Penn State Turfgrass Science Student Interns with State College Spikes — Penn State Turfgrass Science student Sara Camuso, who currently helps maintain all playing fields on the University Park campus, last summer came one stop closer to living her dream by interning on the grounds crew at Medlar Field, (4/2008)
- Penn State Team Wins Student Competition — At this year’s National Sports Turf Manager’s Associations National Conference in Phoenix Arizona both of Penn State’s Competitive Student Teams placed first in their divisions. (2/2008)
- Penn State Turfgrass Science Student Wins Watson Scholarship — Penn State Turfgrass Science student Sara Camuso was recently awarded the Watson Undergraduate Scholarship at the National Sports Turf Manager’s Associations National Conference in Phoenix Arizona. (2/2008)
- Stanley Zontek Given Department of Crop and Soil Sciences Outstanding Alumni Award — Stanley Zontek was presented with the Department of Crop and Soil Sciences Outstanding Alumni Award at the 2008 Penn State Turf Conference held at the Nittany Lion Inn on the Universtiy Park Campus. (11/2007)
- Turfgrass Science Major Works on Oakmont Course, Sees U.S. Open Up Close — Spending hours near the famous Oakmont Country Club golf greens and watching the pros play one of the most prestigious golf tournaments in the world would seem like a dream for many people, but for Penn State senior Ryan Ifft, it was the culmination of three years of hard work.
